Larry McAfee

(Helmsman 1993-2008)

It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the untimely death of our dear friend and comrade, Larry. 

Larry gave his all for Red Bay Station and the RNLI.  His commitment, energy and passion for our volunteer activities was only surpassed by his professionalism in the role of helmsman.  A natural leader he         inspired confidence from his crew through action, not words.  His manner to all those he came in contact with was always engaging, encouraging and supportive. 

Always accommodating.  Always ready to answer the call.

His legacy to this station will be that he helped train a younger generation of crew members who will always respect his memory by giving of their time in the same selfless manner that he did.

Our condolences to his wife Christine and sons Martin, Sean & Conor and to the wider McAfee family.
